Better Call Saul: 10 Best Characters Only In One Episode

1. Charles McGill - Inflatable (S2E7)

Better Call Saul Matador
Netflix

The episode, Inflatable, opens with a flashback of a ten-year-old Jimmy working at the convenient store that belongs to his father, Charles. After a customer tells Charles a sob story, Jimmy's dad offers to help him out.

Jimmy can immediately tell the customer is a grifter and warns his father not to fall for the scam. Not only does Charles ignore his son's pleas, he gives the customer double the amount of money he asked for. Just before the customer leaves, he tells Jimmy that "there are only wolves and sheep in this world", affirming that he was right not to trust him.

Even though the whole episode could have been dedicated to the sad life of Charles McGill to help us understand why Jimmy became Saul Goodman, it didn't have to. In this single scene, we understand that Jimmy was so scared of becoming a chump, he decided to dedicate his life to preying on people like his father.

Although it would be nice for Charles to reappear, it's not necessary since his scene helped us completely understand Jimmy's relationship with him as well as his entire philosophy on life.
