Better Call Saul: 10 Things You Need To Know

6. The Timeline Is Confusing

How exactly will Walter, Skyler and Jesse show up, however? Better Call Saul has been confirmed as being set in 2002, towards the beginning of the lawyer's career on the wrong side of the...well, law, which is a fair few years before the events of Breaking Bad. Whilst he may cross paths with Jesse at some point, the more prosaic early profession of Walter White would've kept them well apart. Apparently the setting of Better Call Saul is a little less rigid than that. Not only will that involve flash forwards of the sort Breaking Bad employed all the time but possibly some sort of fractured chronology which will allow certain episodes (or parts of episodes) to take place during and after Breaking Bad. That all sounds...mighty confusing. So perhaps the flash forwards of Saul reportedly working minimum wage at Cinnabon is him lying low after everybody goes their separate ways and adopts new identities at the end of that show? Or maybe there will be episodes about what non-Heisenberg stuff he got up to during Breaking Bad? Apparently so.
