Big Bang Theory: Sheldon's 10 Greatest Bazingas

7. Season 3 Episode 21: The Same Bed

This one can be found at 0:56 in the above video. This joke is made much better by its set up, which is cut off in the video: Howard: A, are you kidding me? And B, seriously, are you freaking kidding me? Sheldon: A, I rarely kid. And B, when I do kid, you will know it by my use of the word bazinga. Howard: So you're saying the two of you are going to be sleeping in the same bed? Sheldon: Yes. Bazinga. Some background: Sheldon offers a visiting professor, Elizabeth Plimpton, a place to stay, but the other guys are in disbelief at the idea of him willingly sharing the apartment with a woman. Sheldon's clarification of his use of "bazinga" is a joke in itself, but Howard improves it tenfold by immediately asking something which Sheldon would obviously answer no other way. Even the idea of Sheldon and a woman sleeping in the same bed is hilarious €“ he'd have a fit if Leonard was too close, let alone anyone else. This exchange successfully emphasises how differently this group of scientists talk amongst themselves compared to many other groups of friends, thanks to the methodical A and B break down, whilst simultaneously adding another nuance to the "bazinga" joke.
