Breaking Bad: 10 Worst Things Jesse Pinkman Has Ever Done
3. Getting Involved With Andrea
If Jesse is the closest a main character comes to being innocent, poor old Andrea is genuinely guiltless in all the crime and nonsense, though she still winds up paying the ultimate price.
Jesse meets the young mother in recovery, and the two strike up a relationship, one of his most significant in the series. Eventually Walt warns his colleague that he’ll ultimately have to reveal his source of income to Andrea, and Jesse cuts things off for her benefit.
The damage had been done by that point, though. Jesse had pulled her into his world, and from that point, she was an easy target for any of his numerous foes looking to hurt or otherwise control him. Walt had already used her to his ends, poisoning her son Brock and temporarily framing Gus to get Jesse back onside.
After all Jesse’s been through even at this stage, you can’t begrudge him for wanting some love in his life, but with the name he’d made for himself in Albuquerque and beyond, it should have been clear enough that he was putting anyone in his proximity at risk. Andrea’s death isn’t Jesse’s fault, but it was he who put her in harm’s way.
