8. Roger Peralta

Parenthood is no easy feat, but Roger Peralta is at least an easy target to try and avoid. While the man is charming, funny and likeable, it's his relationship with his son Jake that turns him into a compelling character, even if he comes out of it looking like a total jerk.

The infamous Peralta patriarch was first mentioned in season one's "Sal's Pizza". It soon became obvious that he did a real number on Jake, causing a mess of daddy issues. So, when we finally got to meet him in season two, it was quite a spectacle.

What's great about Roger is that he does just what you'd expect a sleazy dad to do; he charms his son with his innate wit and confidence before revealing that he's only there to use Jake before leaving.

Since his debut, Roger has worked hard to get back into Jake's good books, and it's proposed a slight redemption arc for him, but he's still that got a lot of improving to do as a father.
