Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Every Season 7 Episode Ranked Worst To Best
4. Ep. 3: Pimemento
Out of Brooklyn Nine Nine's many recurring characters, Adrian Pimento stands out above the rest. Whenever he appears he's an unpredictable force of nature and this episode is no exception. Suffering from amnesia (or "Memento Disease", as Jake calls it) and believing that someone is out to kill him, Pimento is at his erratic best as he ropes Jake and Boyle into piecing together a mystery. This set up provides too many hilarious moments to mention, but it also works as a genuine mystery. It's full of twists and turns worthy of the movie Memento itself (even if Jake's the only one who's seen it).
Additionally, the episode offers some important character moments relating to the season's arc. By this point Jake and Amy are trying to fall pregnant, but Jake struggles with keeping it a secret, especially from Boyle. This dovetails nicely with the more comedic amnesia plot, as it gives Jake someone to talk to, safe in the knowledge that Pimento will forget everything Jake tells him. Well, in theory anyway...
Rounding out the episode, the B-Plot sees the rest of the squad being forced to attend an annual HR seminar that even Amy finds boring. The result is both funny and full of great character moments, as the squad are forced to air their insecurities, causing tensions to run high. Throw in the long-awaited revelation of whether Kelly is the name of Scully's wife or dog and you have an episode that you'll never forget.
