Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Every Season 7 Episode Ranked Worst To Best
6. Ep. 2: Captain Kim
Going into Season 7, fans knew that the beloved Captain Holt would no longer be leading the Nine Nine, thanks to his temporary demotion at the end of the previous season. This wasn't the first time the precinct had found itself under new management, with several incompetent, infuriating or quirky temporary captains appearing over the years. Fans were no doubt pleasantly surprised then, when they were introduced to Capt. Julie Kim.
She proves to be a refreshingly kind, competent and supportive captain, who has the utmost respect for Holt. Naturally though, past experiences, as well as loyalty to their regular captain, generates a lot of suspicion among the squad. It's former Capt. Holt himself though that takes the cake, as he jealously and suspiciously searches for proof that Kim is actually a plant for his adversary, Madeline Wuntch. Things reach insane heights when the team, including Holt, are invited to Kim's house for a party, which Holt takes as an opportunity to dig for dirt.
There are so many hilarious situations in the episode and it's both funny and difficult to watch Holt and Jake fight to find a reason to hate Kim. The audience no doubt goes through similar motions as they come to realise that she really is sincere. The only thing wrong with her is that she doesn't appear beyond this episode. It's a shame that she didn't stick around a while longer, because she truly was one of the nicest characters to ever grace the show.
