Where to start with Buffy Summers? The Slayer, Buffy is emotionally strong, a wicked fighter, a selfless hero and a relatable, endearing teenager who goes through life's tragedies whilst fighting the forces of darkness. Buffy is the strongest character on the show, and one of the most compelling, flawed and brilliantly realised TV protagonists of all time.

Appearing in films such as The Hunger Games, Everything Everything (opposite Nick Robinson) and The Darkest Minds before wowing with her towering performance in the drama The Hate U Give, Amandla Stenberg is an actress destined to win every award under the sun and become a household name in the next couple years.

On screen, Stenberg oozes likability and makes every role she's given seem more human simply because it's her behind the character. And that's exactly what Buffy Summers needs - someone who can remind audiences that she is a badass demon hunter, but also a normal, everyday girl you'd want to be friends with.

Stenberg has the skills and then some, and would surely make Sarah Michelle Gellar proud.
