Class: 8 Reasons To Be Excited About The Doctor Who Spin-Off

4. It Stars A Talented Young Cast

One thing Doctor Who - in particular, the rebooted series - has always been good at is procuring fresh talent. Companions like Billie Piper, Karen Gillan and newcomer Pearl Mackie all had only a few credits to their names before Doctor Who catapulted them to stardom. And let's not forget the many future famous names who have guest-starred over the years. e.g. Carey Mulligan, Andrew Garfield and Felicity Jones.

Class looks set to continue this tradition with its core four leads. The series stars twentysomething actors Sophie Hopkins, Greg Austin, Fady Alsayed and Vivian Oparah as Coal Hill schoolers April, Charlie, Ram and Tanya respectively. While we haven't seen much of them in action yet, the production team's track record with discovering great untested actors makes us pretty certain that these guys will knock it out the park.

The fifth member of the main cast is snarky teacher Miss Quill, as played by Katherine Kelly. As opposed to her co-stars, Kelly is a regular face on British TV (Selfridge, The Night Manager, Happy Valley), so she'll presumably offer some solid support for the "kids."
