4. Betty White

Community John Goodman
Sony Pictures Television

Betty White has had the longest career of any entertainer, spanning over 80 years. White began her career just 3 months after graduating high school in 1939.

Over her career, she carved a place for herself both in front of and behind the camera. In 1955 she was given the honorary title Mayor of Hollywood, in part due to recognition as the first woman to produce a sitcom. She has pushed past barriers and rightfully earned her place in sitcom history. She is most well known today for her role in The Golden Girls.

At 98 Betty White is still working and in the second season of Community, she appeared in 2 episodes, playing Anthropology professor June Bauer. In the series' premiere, she comes in as the professor for the new class the group are taking and tasks them with finding the most useful tool from a group of nine.

At the end of the episode, Jeff tells her the most important tool is respect, to which she responds by attacking him with a weapon made from all 9 tools. She gets fired and appears again only once, in an ending gag two episodes later, explaining the plot of inception to African tribesmen.
