Long before she was underwhelming in the MCU, Brie Larson had a few sporadic roles in smaller films and television.

One of these was her brief appearance as Rachel in Community; a character who acted as Abed's girlfriend who always felt extremely off, rather than ever on the same page as Abed or even anyone else in the series, meeting only one of the other study group members in Annie. That isn't surprising considering that she appears twice in six seasons, with both appearances coming in different seasons.

Would you believe that she initially came to the cast in season 4? Of course you would, as everybody who's viewed Community at least once in its entirety knows to avoid the lambasted, misfiring season when firing the series up for a rewatch. However, Rachel isn't so much a provocateur of this as she is a casualty.

When lackadaisically carrying out her duties as a coat check girl, Abed stumbles onto her after sinking deep into the problems he created for himself, but when Rachel materialises, she counters his pretensions by presenting herself as a calming presence who instantly becomes interested in the quirky introvert. That is, until Abed becomes beyond unfiltered and a little pushy, which leads to him inadvertently pushing Rachel out of the door. Never to be seen again.
