Daredevil Season 3: 10 Things You Need To Know About Bullseye
8. Nobody Knows His Real Backstory
Only faint snippets of Bullseye's history have been revealed and those details are frustratingly inconsistent. He has given various accounts of his abusive family upbringing and his sibling rivalry, none of which quite add up, and he has even gone on to admit that the accounts he's provided are largely false.
Stories of his early years with more concrete semblance include Bullseye joining a Major League Baseball team, only to grow bored and kill the coach with a high speed baseball head-shot. He was also rumored to be a Vietnam soldier who enjoyed dispatching the enemy a little too much, after which he rose amongst the ranks of the world's assassin's by performing various overseas killing missions.
His true name is also open to speculation. Take your pick from Lester, Shelton, Benjamin, Leonard, all of which seem to be as true as they are untrue. The general mystique of Bullseye's history is one which has been faithfully left open-ended in his four decade existence as a Marvel character, with writers agreeing that the general lack of context for his existence makes him that much more sinister.
