It was a line used in some of the earlier promotional work for the show, and we finally got to see it in use here. When describing the problems ahead for the world, Rip firmly states, Ive seen Men of Steel die and Dark Knights fall in a moment that will have brought a massive smile to the face of many a long-time DC fan. Even though The CWs DC world isnt allowed to use certain A-list heroes, its at least rewarding to fans to know that these heroes exist in the same world that weve invested so much time in. And here, in a fantastic nod and wink at the audience, we got confirmation that, yes, Superman and Batman are both a part of this world somewhere, somehow.
