DC's Legends Of Tomorrow Season 1: 15 WTF Moments From 'Pilot, Part 1'

2. The Expendables

So, one of the bigger WTF moments of this first episode is Rip Hunter€™s revelation that he actually lied about how his team aren€™t really Legends in the future. In fact, they are far from it. Considering that Hunter has his pick of every single hero who ever lived throughout time, it did seem a little odd that rather than the likes of Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman or Green Lantern, he instead chose the likes of Captain Cold, Heat Wave, Firestorm, and The Atom. Granted, those Justice League A-listers are pretty much barred from The CW€™s DC world right now, but even then, using The Flash or even Green Arrow would be a better shout than the team Hunter has assembled. It all becomes painfully clear here to our Legends as to why they€™ve been chosen: they€™re all expendable, all essentially nobodies whose deaths (and lives, for that matter) will make no difference to the future of the world. It€™s a bitter pill to swallow for this newly-established team who have all chosen to risk their lives based on saving the world and believing in Rip Hunter€™s crusade.
