DC's Legends Of Tomorrow Season 1: 6 Ups And 6 Downs From 'The Magnificent Eight

3. Shout-Outs

Whilst it was great to see Jonah Hex show in up a Legends episode, it was also nice of the show to include a few shout outs to other comic book characters.

What Legends of Tomorrow does – hell, what Arrow and The Flash do, too – is that it does its best to reward longtime comic book aficionados with nods, winks and references at any point that it can.

Here, we were firstly given a namedrop of Quentin Turnbull, a longstanding Jonah Hex villain from the Weird Western Tales book of the 1970s and also the main villain of the Josh Brolin-starring Jonah Hex movie.

If Turnbull wasn’t enough of a nice wink for DC fans, we’d also get mention of Hannibal Hawkes (shown above), aka Nighthawk, aka the Golden Age version of Hawkman.

We may not get to see all of DC’s complete roster of characters in the show, but it’s still nice for the fans to see DC’s Legends of Tomorrow make reference to other characters in order to let you know that they do exist in this world.
