DC's Stargirl Season 1 Review: 10 Ups & 2 Downs

Ups...

10. Less Is More

Let's start with something that this writer found incredibly refreshing about Stargirl before he even started watching it: The episode count.

Being a DC Universe original, the first season boasts a respectable 13 episodes. This ultimately works in its favour because it doesn't push the boat out with the unnecessarily ambitious 22-episode-count so many other shows struggle to maintain, but it also doesn't curtail its slow-burn narrative in the emerging eight-episode mold of streaming shows.

Kudos to whoever decided on 13 episodes because it was, without question, the right choice. The story progresses nicely without ever rushing or stalling along the way and every single episode serves an important purpose.
