9. One Coherent, Compelling Narrative

What instantly stands out about Stargirl is how streamlined the overarching narrative is.

With a mere 13 episodes to tell the story, it doesn't take multiple stops along the way nor does it weave an unnecessary plot development into an unnecessary villain-of-the-week episode (there are none of those). Oh sure, it's a character-driven piece with its own subplots as a result, but it never veers off-course.

Instead, it remains solely focused on its objective, with clever twists and authentic developments enhancing the flow of the narrative without ever disrupting it. And that makes each one of those 13 episodes feel equally important to the season.

Stargirl's quest to revive the JSA and save Blue Valley from the Injustice Society is all that matters, and the strong writing and compelling characters enrich it every step of the way.
