5. Chad Coleman
Chad Coleman recently said outright, in an interview with MTV, that he would be very interested in portraying Luke Cage for Marvel. He was very matter of fact about it, saying he'd love to play the hero and that he really admired the likes of Robert Downey Jr. et al for what they've done with the superhero genre. He stressed how his friends watched him in a play and described him as "the new black superhero" and said that his role of Tyrese in The Walking Dead helped him to embody such a role. He also said that he felt he could definitely carry the responsibility of the role and even gave his best Luke Cage impersonation on camera with a hearty "Sweet Christmas!" Given that there were rumours that Marvel pushed for him to be given the role of Tyrese in The Walking Dead in order to increase his profile so that they could cast him as Luke Cage in a potential movie, this doesn't seem at all unlikely to happen.
