Doctor Who: 10 Greatest Things The 50th Anniversary Year Gave Us

1. The Twelfth Doctor

Despite great secrets revealed, old enemies faced and a whole host of entertaining extras, the greatest thing the show was given in its anniversary year was a new Doctor. Something to remind us that while this year has been looking back at the show's illustrious past, it still has a lot of life in yet, the Doctor's hearts are still beating... Doctor Who embraces change. No other television show has changed as much as this one yet still retains the same core. With an actor the quality of Peter Capaldi, we have a Doctor who could have the wisdom of William Hartnell, the eccentricities of Matt Smith and something of every other incarnation in between as well as bringing something never-before-seen to the character. Doctor Who is never more exciting than when it is new. And now it has regenerated once again, ready to inspire a whole new generation of fans and keep hold of the ones its already got. As he ensures the show sails into the future, the Twelfth Doctor is the greatest thing this 50th anniversary year gave us. Agree with these choices? Has your favourite bit from this year of Doctor Who been forgotten like the Twelfth Doctor seems to have lost his knowledge of the TARDIS? Comment your thoughts below.
