Doctor Who: 10 Things We Learned In The Caretaker

1. Missy Is A Very Busy Woman But She's Not The Only Staff On Schedule

The third and final clue to the Promised Land came in the entrance of a second 'member of staff' played by comedic actor and Capaldi's The Thick Of It co-star Chris Addison. Like Michelle Gomez, Addison was recently announced as appearing in the finale but made a surprise debut ahead of schedule as the series arc kicked up a gear. Just what his role is, we don't know yet, though he does appear to fit some kind of middle management role in this heavenly facility. More intriguing still was his note that Missy was very, very busy. She's been all smiles in her first two appearances, but this time there was a serious darker expression on her face, suggesting whatever this threat it, it's certainly getting bigger. Friends or foes, we'll have to ponder on the presence of the these mysterious characters that inhabit the Promised Land as we get ever closer to the series eight finale... And there you have 10 things we learned in The Caretaker. Amid all the comedy and action, it was an important episode for the ongoing story arc and the lives of the Doctor, Clara and Danny. It's importance probably won't be realised until the series ends, but for now it offers up plenty of promise for the next six episodes...
