Doctor Who: 10 Ways They Could Screw Up The Peter Capaldi Era
10. Get Rid Of Clara
The companions of The Doctor are almost as iconic as The Doctor himself. We have seen many come and go throughout the years, but Clara Oswald was given a larger role in The Doctor's history than any previous companion. Clara was transposed into the life of every incarnation of The Doctor, making her a guiding light for him throughout his journeys. One of the biggest letdowns the writers could give us at this point is ending her story after such a short time. Clara had a slow introduction, first popping up in The Asylum of the Daleks and then again as a Victorian governess who perished at the hands of a woman made of ice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N34g5z4t168 She appeared throughout the last half of the last season of the show and was right there when Matt Smith morphed into Peter Capaldi. New Doctors usually get new companions, with the exception of Rose who was with The Doctor during his regeneration from Chris Eccelston to David Tennant. The writers should do the same thing here and keep Clara around for at least another full year. She has too much left in her character to ditch her at this point.
I have been a writer for Bleacher Report for several years, and am now happy to also be a writer at What Culture! I do my best to contribute anywhere I can in a positive way, and that includes in my writing. Some people call me The Doctor, but Chris is fine.
