Doctor Who: All 17 Series 7 Episodes & Special Ranked
5. Hide - Neil Cross
Having watched The Rings Of Akhaten, to say I didn't really have high hopes for Hide was a bit of an understatement, but boy was I wrong. The episode was excellent, and it gave a really chilling atmosphere, perfectly blending a ghost story with sci fi with seamless execution. The sections inside the house were suitably creepy and tense, with great atmosphere and the supporting cast were also interesting, providing a nice comparison to the Doctor/Companion dynamic. Hide was also a well-paced episode (until the end), and the use of time travel to see the whole life cycle of the Earth was a nice touch, and allowed Clara to get some nice dialogue when telling the Doctor that "we're all ghosts to you". In all honestly, the ending with the monsters in love was largely unnecessary, feeling tacked on and provided a rushed feeling to the end of what was otherwise, a really good episode of Who.
Jake lives in a small town in England with nothing much to do besides watch far too much television, play games and occasionally have a cup of tea. His favourite things to do are play the guitar and eat scones. Follow him at @_jakelennon if you wish.
