Doctor Who: All 85 Revival Era Stories Ranked

50. The Rings Of Akhaten

Hugely unfair that 'Rings...' is so hated: it's stupendously lush in dialogue, colour and ambition. And that speech just makes the whole episode worthwhile.

49. The End Of The World

The Doctor needed Rose to understand what it would be like to lose a homeworld, so he took her to the Earth's destruction. A fantastically grandiose study of humanity, pushed to a camp bombasity.

48. The Shakespeare Code

Focussing more in poetry than science, 'The Shakespeare Code' is the tale of two geniuses €“ Shakespeare and the Doctor €“ fighting evil together; it's a fun and simple second episode for any series.

47. The Crimson Horror

The Paternoster Gang take centre stage, Dame Diana Rigg is at a villainous best, and the flashback scenes are excellent; Gatiss's best contribution to the show.

46. Partners In Crime

Donna's back and this time she's bearable; excellent comedy and cute monsters make this one of the more successful RTD series openers.
