6. The Heist Episode 5
Normally, Steven Moffats one sentence description of a heist movie done with Doctor Who would be whats needed to hype this episode but the rumoured title manages to accomplish that feat in two words: Time Heist. A high-stakes heist with a sci-fi element is a great concept in itself but this episode looks like it will take that even further by incorporating the element of time into it somehow. The whole episode is intriguing but the heist itself sounds like the sequence with the most potential. Especially when you think about the ways that time could factor into it. Stealing time, using time to bypass security, defences that use time somehow. Its an area of writing and production with massive potential and is the kind of high concept plot that only Doctor Who can pull off with a real flourish It has all the makings of an intricately written and deftly directed action sequence that takes a lot of risks and experiments as much as possible. And of course, the cherry on the cake is that the episode is written by Steve Thompson who previously brought us some brilliantly plotted crime sequences in the Sherlock episodes The Great Game and The Reichenbach Fall.
