Doctor Who: 10 Best Episodes To Get You Into The Classic Series
7. The Robots Of Death
The Robots of Death may sound like a generic base under siege story on the face of it, with crew members on a sand miner being killed off one by one. However, underneath this bog-standard logline is an outstanding and somewhat eerie story with one of the best Doctors and Leela, a companion that doesn’t conform to the screaming damsel in distress stereotype often seen in Classic Who.
The Fourth Doctor, played by Tom Baker, is one of the most beloved Doctors of all time, and is instantly recognizable to those who may not even watch the show. His era has some of the greatest Who stories ever put to screen. However, Robots of Death is simple, enjoyable, and similar in style to NuWho.
With a classic and scary one-off villain, excellent performances, and not to mention the excellent set design for the time, The Robots of Death is a great place to start watching Classic Doctor Who.
