Death to the Daleks was a Third Doctor adventure from 1974 in which an energy drain created a very uneasy alliance between the Third Doctor, his companion Sarah Jane Smith, a Marine Space Corps expedition and a squadron of Daleks. With them all trapped on the planet Exxilon with its hostile natives, the key to their escape led them through a series of deadly traps. The Daleks ended up using slaves to mine for parrinium and when Sarah helped a slave called Jill to escape from captivity, the Dalek guard was so self-critical of its lapse in concentration and failure to keep an eye on her that it self-destructed out of pure remorse.
