Doctor Who: 10 Factors That Should Be Included In Series 9

7. Uncharted History

Agatha Christie. Charles Dickens. Winston Churchill. There have been a fair few familiar historical faces shown in NuWho, but maybe not enough. The purpose of this show is to inform and educate, as well as fascinate and entertain, so history should be a big part of this show. However, there doesn't seem to have been enough historically set episodes over the last 10 years. Figures like Martin Luther King, Guy Fawkes, Elvis Presley, H. G. Wells, Arthur Conan Doyle, Stephen Hawking and Marilyn Monroe (and actually involve her this time!) are just waiting to cross paths with the Doctor and introducing historical figures like this into the show would encourage its younger viewers to go out and educate themselves more about their fascinating new role models. Perhaps it would even inspire them to do something great with their lives. Doctor Who does have that power!
