Speaking of the Master, World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls wasn't the first multi-Master story. Big Finish had beaten Steven Moffat to the finish line a year prior. And You Will Obey Me, Vampire of the Mind and The Two Masters formed a loosely connected trilogy of stories which had three versions of the Doctor battling his arch-nemesis.

The narrative cleverly built up to an epic showdown with the Seventh Doctor, resulting in the timelines of the two variations of the Master to forcibly converge.

Through this special occurrence Big Finish decided to explore the possibility of further multi-Master events through the likes of The Diary of River Song and Ravenous.

It's fair to say that each adventure has been bigger than the last, with their upcoming project, Masterful, holding the most Masters to date, including the return of Eric Roberts, John Simm, and Michelle Gomez.
