1. Johnny Depp
When doing this list, there was only one actor I could think that would be perfect for playing the Doctor, and that would be Johnny Depp himself. Why? Just look at the roles that he has portrayed over his career: Captain Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Raoul Duke, Willy Wonka, and - most recently - Barnabas Collins. With that body of work and so much more, who could refuse the chance to spot Depp emerging rom The TARDIS doors and into another world with a plucky companion by his side? And it will be no surprise to work out what type of Doctor Depp would go for. Think of a mix between Matt Smith, David Tennant and Tom Baker, with perhaps the fashion sense of Jon Pertwee. And think of the box office potential that Depp could deliver to a Doctor Who movie. Given that he is one of Hollywood's most bankable stars, it would likely be a movie that would help the series gain legions of new fans in the process and set it up as potentially one of the biggest box office franchises in motion picture history.
