Stick With Your StoryScreen Shot 2013-08-10 at 2.03.15 AM When the DoSA tries to tackle special education policy, picking and choosing certain expert opinions over others lands Hugh in trouble as he is caught in an easily-disprovable lie under oath. Rather than admit the falsehood, Hugh sticks to his swiftly unraveling story, and the closest that he comes to confessing his indiscretion arrives when he claims to have forgotten what had happened. Although the moral of this story concerns not telling tales, Doctor Who would benefit from the lesson. With fifty years of history, there are naturally going to be continuity glitches and story contradictions. Still, the plots of the show are often convoluted enough that consistency is absolutely necessary for any of the arcs to make any sense. If Doctor Who makes one of its rare unbreakable rules or absolute statements, it needs to stick with those certainties, no matter how convenient it may become to cheat.
