Doctor Who: 10 Reasons Shona McCullough Should Be A New Companion

1. A Stellar Performance

Last but by no means least is the most important reason Shona McCullough should come back for Series 9, and that's her real life alter ego. The mere fact there's already so much to say about her is a real testament to the talent of the actress who played her. Faye Marsay - who has just received critical praise for her role in E4's acclaimed team drama Glue - has managed to establish a dynamic character who has shown so much potential in just one episode. Fans are already campaigning for her to return and that's no mean feat when you consider the amount of guest stars who come in and out of Doctor Who each episode. To stand out is a real achievement in itself and Faye's an upcoming star of British TV who would benefit from taking on the coveted role of the Doctor's companion, and the show would no doubt benefit in return. Who knows what the future holds for Shona McCullough and, admittedly, it could be nothing, but there's certainly a lot of people who can't wait to find out! Would you like to see Shona McCullough returning to Doctor Who as a full time companion in 2015? Is she the magician's apprentice that the Series 9 premiere title is referring to?
