Doctor Who: 10 Reasons The Eleventh Doctor Actually Sucks

Geroni..NO.

Matt Smith's bow tie wearing, fish fingers and custard eating incarnation is brilliant, right? He's the version that finally cracked America, leading to a genuine cult following and a million bad cosplay outfits. That's great, right? His stories were acclaimed by the critics, showrunner Steven Moffat being the darling of the chattering classes, his Sherlock being feted as the best thing ever. Doctor Who was now clever, complex, sophisticated and... clever! Moffat was the guy who wrote The Empty Child and Blink, stories fans go dolally for. With the Moff at the helm, casting the Doctor and in creative control of his adventures, surely the only result could the best Doctor Who ever? Sure, the viewing figures were down a bit but that's because more people watch it on iPlayer, they say. Just look at the thousands who flocked to the cinema to see the 3D version of The Day of the Doctor at the cinema in November 2013. The show's never been more popular or more successful. So why were so many viewers relieved when Matt Smith finally declared he was standing down and why has Peter Capaldi's 12th version felt so much like a breath of fresh air? The truth is that the Eleventh Doctor, after a promising start, quickly became annoying to the point that watching his later adventures made you want to reach into the telly and slap him. What follows are 10 reasons why the Eleventh Doctor actually sucks.
