Doctor Who: 10 Things Fans Want From Series 9 (But Won't Get)

5. A Consistent Clara

Clara Oswald is set to become the longest serving nuWho companion with series 9, but despite the fact that she's been around for so long there's still one little question that needs answering: who exactly is she?

Is she the Impossible Girl? Is she a school teacher? Is she the Doctor's best friend, or someone specifically chosen for a more nefarious reason? What's she supposed to be like? Clara is one of my favourite Who companions, and Jenna Coleman has done some fantastic work on the show, but there have been a number of inconsistencies and changes to her character that go beyond 'character development'.

This will in all likelihood be her last year in the TARDIS, and hopefully - with a more settled relationship between her and Twelve, and a more permanent lifestyle inside the phone-box - they can settle on exactly who she is and what she's supposed to be doing.
