Doctor Who: 10 Times The Doctor Just Didn't Give A F***

5. Trying To Kill A Caveman Purely Because He's An Inconvenience

For a hero who's all about pacifism and saving the day without shedding a drop of blood, the First Doctor was awfully prepared to cave that man’s skull in to save them some time, wasn’t he?

The Doctor and his hostages – sorry, friends – find themselves on the run from a tribe in their very first adventure. When two of the friendlier cavepeople catch up to them, one is badly injured by a wild boar. This puts quite a roadblock in the Doctor's escape, as Barbara and Ian insist on stopping to help the wounded man.

So of course, our noble hero springs into action to aid them! Oh sorry no, he argues that it’s pointless to help the caveman as it would slow them down, before picking up a rock ready to bash his brains in so they can move on. It's a reminder of how coldly logical the Doctor can be, because ultimately he's not wrong that cutting the deadweight would help them get back to the TARDIS quicker.

It seems "the man who never would" only applies to picking up a gun, and not bludgeoning a defenceless man to death with a rock…
