Doctor Who: 10 Worst Episodes Of The Decade
5. Knock Knock (2017)
The fourth episode of Series 10 starts with plenty of promise. After searching in vain for some decent university accommodation, Bill and several other students are shown a sizeable and affordable home that seems too good to be true.
Both the house and the landlord are clearly hiding something, which in turn creates a great deal of suspense and intrigue.
Unfortunately, this intense atmosphere soon starts to slip away as the episode becomes more and more ridiculous the longer it goes on. The CGI insects are especially ludicrous, as are the over-the-top screams from Bill’s housemates.
Moreover, the landlord’s reasoning for carrying out his abductions is rather nonsensical and feels like it was written for the sole purpose of subverting expectation.
It’s a shame, therefore, that an intriguing first act rapidly degenerates into a laughably silly episode with absolutely no re-watchability.
