Doctor Who: 10 Writers Who Should Never, Ever Return

4. Toby Whithouse

Go ahead and pretend like he didn€™t just incorporate Classic and NuWho in one phenomenal episode, because he didn't. It wasn't phenomenal. The ending with the Doctor finally saying a proper goodbye to Sarah Jane Smith and fixing K-9 for her definitely didn't make you cry. The Doctor's physics lesson isn't the lesson of your dreams. Mickey's clever anecdotes have no consequence whatsoever. It was all really stupid. And why wouldn't it be? Coming from a man who doesn't in the least care about making a well thought episode and bringing something fresh to the table, it sure as heck doesn't make for a joyride. If Toby Whithouse is to come back for Series 9, he might just make things adventurous and interesting with a touch of an orchestrated suspense with every scene. You don't want that. That's absurd.
