Doctor Who: 11 Must See Classic Episodes For Fans Of The New Series

9. The 2nd Doctor €“ The Tomb Of The Cybermen

drwho_TomboftheCybermen_jpg_627x1000_q85 €œOur lives are different to anybody else's. That's the exciting thing, that nobody in the universe can do what we're doing.€ - The Doctor Although the Cybermen first appeared in the 1st Doctor story, The Tenth Planet, I€™m not including it here as it is one of the lost adventures due to the BBC€™s policy of wiping their archives in the 1970s. Sadly, many of Patrick Troughton's best stories were lost this way. The Tomb of the Cybermen has the Doctor and his companions, Jamie McCrimmon and Victoria Waterfield, joining an expedition to find the final resting place of the Cybermen. Little do they know it€™s actually a trap, set by the Cybermen, to lure humans for conversion into an invasion force. This story features great performances from the main cast, and one of the best soundtracks of the Patrick Troughton era. The Tomb of the Cybermen contains the first appearance of both the Cybermats and the Cyber Controller, and is the first time the Doctor reveals his age. Boy does he look great for a man of four hundred and fifty years young!

A writer in spirit, a baker by profession. Carl has been a comic shop impresario, comic book illustrator, record store clerk, electronic musician, late night radio DJ, club promoter, graphic designer, and other cool things you wish you could be. He mistakenly had purple dreadlocks once. For three years. Which made him way less cool. He doesn't actually know what the word impresario means, and is way too lazy to Google it. Carl is also an American, and for that he apologizes.
