Doctor Who: 11 Reasons To Love The 11th Doctor

1. Matt Smith

Matt Smith

The 11th Doctor is played by Matt Smith. What a guy! What a champ! Nobody else could have portrayed the 11th Doctor quite as well as he did, and my goodness, there are reasons for this. The role of the Doctor on its own is an immense responsibility, but in some ways, Matt Smith had to play more than one of them. The role became brilliantly multi-faceted during Matt Smith's tenure, and he stepped up to the plate and hit a home run with every curveball pitch the writers could throw at him (wow€”that metaphor got a little away from me there, but did you notice all the excellent puns?). Matt Smith was hilarious, he was heartbreaking, he was fearsome; he laughed, he cried, he moved us all in so many different ways. And that was just as the Doctor. As Matt Smith, he also seems like a righteous dude€”have you seen his adorable "thank you to the fans" video? Matt Smith is, perhaps, the most significant reason we all should love the 11th Doctor.
