6. The Cybermen - Rise of the Cybermen/The Age of Steel

I know that the Cybermen are some of the iconic villains villains of all of
Doctor Who, but that doesn't meant that they have to come back nearly as often as they do, although I'm not saying that they should omitted forever. Remember what I said about about bringing back a villain too many times and making them not scary? Enter the Cybermen. Moffat is especially guilty of this, although his excessive bringing back of characters in not limited to villains (see: Rory, River, the Ponds) and lessens the emotional impact of the return for the good as well as the bad. For anyone who thinks that I'm picking on Moffat (although, yes, kind of), see "Journey's End" for an example of Russel T. Davies going overboard with return appearances. Still, Moffat seems to have a habit of constructing a plot around a single event or image that he wants in a particular episode. Remember the episode when Eleven visited Craig from "The Lodger" (don't worry, I love Craig and he can come back whenever he wants) and there were hijinks about a baby called Alfie? Of course you do. It was a great episode, and you probably immediately wanted to correct me and tell me that the baby prefers to go by "Stormageddon, Dark Lord of All." Although, really, who wouldn't want to go by "Stormageddon"? In any case, it was a fun episode with Eleven trying to fit in with the humans and Craig trying to contain him and there was a baby called Stormageddon. Oh, and some Cybermen. They were there too. I think. Whatever.
