5. The Doctor, The Widow And The Wardrobe
Despite the fact that his tenure was an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish, the Eleventh Doctor rarely broke down and most of the time he showcased a somewhat subdued sadness which gave us a glimmer into his underlying feelings without him having to get completely overwhelmed. The closing moments of the 2011 Christmas Special, The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe, is a perfect example of this. Here he was tearing up at the prospect of spending a Christmas with his beloved Ponds and, if
this popular fan theory is to believed, it was actually to be the last time he ever saw them which makes the whole scene much more poignant. He wasn't always quite as reserved as this, though.
