Doctor Who 60th Anniversary: 10 Huge Rumours And Leaks You Need To Know
7. One Of The Episodes Is Set In The 1920s
Rather than getting just a single episode for the 60th anniversary, we're getting three, with Whoniverse veteran Rachel Talalay (Heaven Sent, Twice Upon A Time) helming episode one, and newcomers Tom Kingsley and Chanya Button directing episodes two and three, respectively.
Very little is known about the plots of these episodes other than some vague hints here and there, but one detail we have managed to glean - again, thanks to leaked set pictures - is that one of them is set in the past.
Whether it's for the entire episode or a portion of the episode, a bunch of extras were spotted on set in Bristol wearing period clothing, along with a sign containing the date "Friday, Oct. 30th, 1925".
Doctor Who filming looks likely to start on Broad Street in Bristol’s Old City today. Interesting to see these adverts next to what has become toyshop Mr Emporium. One of them displays the date of October 30 1925. #dwsr pic.twitter.com/Y7x8VUpgCW

Considering that this sign is right next to a toy shop called Mr. Emporium, the period aesthetic could also be one of the Toymaker's tricks - assuming that he's involved.
