Doctor Who: 8 Characters Maisie Williams Might Be Playing
3. A Former Companion
Why does Maisie Williams have to be an old companion (and by 'old' we mean a new version of an old one) when she can just be a brand new one? And by 'new' we mean someone the fans have never seen but who the Doctor has previously met before. And yes, that probably is the most confusing sentence you'll read today. According to some early rumours (just where these rumours come from, though, is anyone's guess!), Maisie will be playing a vengeful character called Elise who the Doctor abandoned before she had the chance to step aboard the TARDIS as his coveted companion. She would basically be like Amy Pond only Maisie has been waiting to kill the Doctor, rather than run away with him in her nightie and kiss him on the night before her wedding. Oh, Amy... It would certainly be an interesting dynamic, though, if the Doctor was reunited with a former potential companion who has been plotting to exact revenge since their last ill-fated encounter. And how would she take to Clara Oswald, knowing that she's been living the life that could've - and perhaps should've - been hers? Fans haven't seen a cat fight in the TARDIS for a while, so that's at least one thing that's shamelessly overdue. Who doesn't love a cat fight? Hell, perhaps Elise will even be directly responsible for Clara's rumoured departure? As always, only time will tell. It's just a shame that time has to progress so slowly, and in the right order...
