6. Shada (Bonus release, 2003)

Back in the day, there was a story by Douglas Adams that was being made into a TV episode starring the Fourth Doctor, the Second Romana and K-9. That story was called Shada, and it has entered into Who lore because, due to labor issues, it was never completed. This story is an adaptation of that screenplay, with the Eighth Doctor taking the role of the Fourth, and Romana (Lalla Ward), taking time off from being President of Gallifrey. Together they, along with K-9 (John Leeson), try to solve the mystery of Shada. This is a really delightful story, full of all sorts of little Easter eggs for fans of Adams writing. Its also just a great stand-alone Who story, and its quite impressive how well McGann and Ward work together. While at six parts it is perhaps a little longer than I might have liked, Ill take those six parts gladly over most 45 minute episodes from the 10th Doctors era.
