Doctor Who: 9 Things That Must Happen In Series 9

9. More Of Missy

Much more, in fact. Much, much more. Despite only appearing in two full episodes of Series 8, Michelle Gomez has already firmly established herself within the Doctor Who universe and, from what we've seen of it so far, her portrayal of the first female incarnation of the Master is a gift that keeps on giving. First introduced in the closing moments of the feature-length premiere Deep Breath, her character - described to "Marry Poppins' evil twin" - remained a mystifying enigma for the majority of the series, although that didn't stop fans concocting their own outlandish theories about who she might be. These are Doctor Who fans, after all! Although her true identity had been suggested amongst the fevered speculation, it didn't detract from the momentous moment in Dark Water when she finally came face to face with the Doctor and the cat was finally let out of the bag. Meow! It was a revelation which well and truly shook the stratosphere of the Doctor Who universe and, by the looks of things, Missy's foray into madness is only just beginning. Michelle Gomez has confirmed that she'll be back in Series 9 and fans dread to think what devilish plans she'll have up her sleeves for the Doctor, and no doubt the human race, in 2015.
