Doctor Who: Every Thirteenth Doctor Episode Ranked From Worst To Best
5. Spyfall Part 1
Spyfall is brilliant. As a viewer, this is the first time in Chibnall’s era that we leaned forwards on our sofa and said “Okay, I’m on board.”
Doctor Who’s loving tribute to classic spy thrillers has a lot going for it, feeling like a proper blockbuster of an episode with twists and turns galore. Its highlight, however, comes with the genuinely shocking twist reveal of a new incarnation of the Master, with Sacha Dhawan nailing his introduction.
The resulting cliffhanger is easily the best of the era, with the Doctor and crew stranded on a rapidly nose-diving aeroplane. This is the first time that Chibnall’s writing felt fun.
