Doctor Who: Legend Of The Sea Devils Review - 6 Ups & 7 Downs

7. DOWN - Incessant Technobabbling

Doctor Who Legend of the Sea Devils
BBC

Holy techno-nonsense Batman…

This episode may just contain the most egregious string of science magic mumbo jumbo of the entire revival. The Doctor spends so much of the runtime throwing words at the wall and explaining every gadget in sight that many viewers, us included, started to switch off, despite attempts to stay engaged. A lot of the plot, especially the transitions from one scene to another, hinge very heavily on these contrived explanations that it starts to insult the intelligence of the audience a little.

Sadly, this is nothing new.
