Doctor Who: Matt Smith's 10 Greatest Moments

3. The Eleventh Hour - Seeing Amelia Pond

Amelia Pond In his first episode aside after his regeneration from Ten, Eleven finds himself in the courtyard in a crashed TARDIS. The courtyard is that of a young Scottish girl, Amelia Pond. The first ten minutes or so of this episode are the strongest, because it shows Eleven€™s ease as a character, getting along so well with this little girl who can actually stand up to the raggedy man in a box. The image of Eleven popping out of his crashed TARDIS, nervous and pained, and the joy on his face as he sees an innocent little girl there, is something beautiful, and as an introduction to the wonder and the magic that would go on under the reign of Matt Smith as the Doctor, it is such a beautiful dynamic, and such a beautiful moment inside of that dynamic.
