Doctor Who: Ranking Every Spin-Off From Worst To Best

Alex Kingston's River Song always seemed like a prime candidate for her own spin-off show and, once they got the rights to the character, Big Finish quickly made it a reality.

As well as seeing (well, hearing) River going on her own archaeology-themed adventures and basically being Indiana Jones in space, one of the major joys of Diary of River Song is witnessing her team up with some of the classic Doctors. Due to the pesky limits of continuity, we can't have them realising that they are meeting their future wife but the guest spots for the likes of the Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Doctors have nonetheless been the highlights of the series so far. Apart from the series' amazing Bondian theme tune, that is.

Currently two volumes of four stories have been released but there are bound to be more on the way. Next up, let's hope they pair River up with the Fourth Doctor. What a couple they'd make.
