Doctor Who Review: Mummy On The Orient Express - 10 Ways To Read The Cards

1. The Fool

The Fool is the catalyst that sets things into motion. He is neither positive nor negative yet has the potential to be both. Which side the Doctor falls on may depend on who is doing the observing. Captain Quell thanked him with his dying breath, grateful for the opportunity to prove his bravery. In his own estimation, he died a better man. The Doctor could not stop certain people from dying but he did give them the choice to help the others left behind. €œMummy On The Orient Express€ was a welcome return to the grand tradition of the best Doctor Who stories with an edge-of-your-seat plot and fascinating characterization. The special effects were top notch. The train was whimsical with a richly detailed interior and the Mummy suitably creepy. It remains to be seen what happens with Clara but hopefully she will not lose her hard-won strength of character to the whims of writers determined to pair her off.
