Doctor Who: The Reality War Review - 4 Ups & 7 Downs

9. DOWN - One Last Exposition Dump For Luck

Doctor Who The Reality War Ncuti Gatwa Fifteenth Doctor

Last week we got a major dump of exposition, which the show tried to cheekily justify by making it part of the plot. This week, we did exactly the same thing. Did we get a good reason for the Rani to rock up for a chat this time? Nope, she just did, for the plot.

After going over her plan (which we’ll get to in a moment), she really helpfully explained the nonsense of the last two seasons and all the implications of the whole ‘Poppy’ situation before leaving, which was super considerate.

And if you’re one of those viewers who had forgotten who the Rani or Omega were since it was explained literally last week, good news! Mel and Kate are on standby to kindly give you a run down of their IMDB pages in a scene so unnatural they might as well have done a Ms Flood and looked right down the camera (a quirk which, I’ll add, STILL wasn’t explained).
